Product Engineer, Bordon Office

Job Spec: Product Engineer 

We are currently seeking a bright and ambitious candidate to join our company in the role of Product Engineer, reporting to the Product Manager(s) for our EchoMaster Connected and OEM divisions. This presents a fantastic opportunity for the right individuals. Based in Bordon, Hampshire, you will provide a key role in supporting the Company’s R&D product team.

Your Role 

You will:

  • Work with the main product development team to design and develop new products, product specifications and solutions.
  • Create test examples and schedules for prototypes from wiring diagrams and supplier information
  • Carry out electronic assembly, prototype and module assembly as well as wiring and soldering etc.
  • Support existing products through testing, quality management and technical support.
  • Create detailed wiring diagrams and product specifications from customer or supplier information
  • Work with suppliers (Asia) to make changes and manage timescales in line with project deadlines.
  • Carry out supplier selection in liaison with the Quality team ensuring supplier qualification
  • Manage all project-related paperwork
  • Work in conjunction with in-house quality systems to ensure standards are met
  • Provide product-related support to existing Product Managers
  • Highlight any issues that are likely to affect operations to the relevant stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships between relevant departments

About You  

To be considered for the Product Engineer role, you will need: 

    • Automotive electrical experience
    • Strong knowledge of installation and assembly of connectors and terminals
    • Knowledge of diagnostic tools
    • Knowledge and understanding of wiring diagrams
    • Knowledge of manual and automated crimping and wire preparation
    • Experience fitting pre-made cable assemblies/wiring harnesses using industry-standard best practices
    • Experience in a product/electrical engineer position
    • A relevant City & Guilds/HND/HND or Bsc qualification (desirable not essential)
    • Ability to disassemble and reassemble vehicles
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Familiarity with drafting standards
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications, 2D and CAD
    • Experience in SolidWorks, RapidHarness and Altium would be preferred
    • Excellent communication skills at all levels
    • A proven team player
    • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation

    • Able to work autonomously to pre-defined schedules

Your Role

As the Entry Level Soldering Technician, specifically you will be using small handheld tools to solder and assemble wiring and circuit boards for electronic equipment. Working under the direction of the Production Supervisor the soldering is basic work on printed circuit board assembly.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Assemble wires
• Assemble PCB boards
• Ensure all products meet the Company’s quality requirements
• Follow test procedures to ensure PCB assembly quality
• Highlight any faults to appropriate Supervisors/Managers
• Consult Supervisor/Manager of any work that will not be finished on time
• Help in other areas of the warehouse when needed
• Seek out areas of improvements within production and product
• Safely and effectively use the equipment provided by the Company
• Additional ad hoc duties as assigned

About You

To be considered for the Entry Level Soldering Technician role, you will need:

• Experience in a production environment is desirable but not essential
• Ability to hand solder at an entry/basic level
• Some exposure to either assembly production, technical, electrical, or soldering would be preferred but not essential
• Ability to understand PCB assembly
• Ability to recognise good solder joints
• Have a keen eye for detail and a steady hand
• Ability to learn and pick up new skills quickly
• Good communication skills
• Carry out duties accurately and diligently, in a timely, professional manner
• Be able to ask questions or for assistance when necessary

Your Role
This is a broad and interesting junior administration role, supporting the UK aftermarket team.  As the Aftermarket Junior Administrator, specifically, you will:

  • Establish and develop productive, professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Working directly with customers and internal teams to ensure all orders are delivered on time, acting as a point of contact, and communicating order status to customers.
  • Create and maintain export documentation.
  • Create and maintain new product information and entry onto the ERP system.
  • Maintenance of product information on the ERP system, including pricing, product status and BOM details.

Your Role
As the Marketing Specialist, specifically you will:

  • Build and develop relationships with key OEM customer and partners at EU and UK country level to drive AAMP’s EchoMaster sales and ensure EchoMaster-powered device market share grows and that we are represented appropriately through our marketing materials
  • Use OEM relationships to gain market insights and build a credible knowledge base within the organisation of ongoing events and sector developments
  • Work with OEM PR leads and local/HQ marketing team to maximise coverage of product and technology launches and align messaging
  • Work with our product and sales teams to deliver a marketing calendar and the needed sales-support collateral for business development, account management and general marketing
  • Report OEM sales in relation to marketing and work with HQ to communicate market share and growth through visual presentations
  • Create a directory of assets and images and revamp the current suite of marketing materials
  • Work with product, sales and marketing peers to understand EchoMaster’s value proposition and product roadmap
  • Build a network into the global branding, marketing, PR, and digital teams to develop and implement the OEMs strategy for the UK and Europe - including OEM channel sales and marketing support
  • Produce a monthly channel report covering relevant market insights, sales and promotional results and upcoming actions
  • Manage and administer the EchoMaster marketing budget through contra revenue and ensure all financial and contractual obligations are met

 

About You
To be considered for the Marketing Specialist role, you will need:

  • Significant experience in the vehicle safety, fleet management or general automotive sector with knowledge of OEMs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or technology
  • Fluent in English, additional languages would be beneficial
  • Ability to define and execute a brand-level marketing strategy
  • Ability to work with partners to create co-marketing assets
  • Experience in driving cross-functional team to create a comprehensive plan with dependencies identified and critical issues/paths
  • Establish key performance metrics to ensure success
